When I was growing up the saying, “WhatEVer” became part of the teenage lexicon. It was not a friendly or respectful thing to say and my parents were not fans so I didn’t say it…much. I think I get mom’s stamp of approval on using it this way though.
I’m in desperate need of a mental makeover, really any kind of a makeover and so on Sundays I’m going to bring you some of my Whatever Moments from the week.
We’re told in Philippians 4:8,
“…whatever is true,
whatever is noble,
whatever is right,
whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely,
whatever is admirable
—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
I know that there are things in my life that are true, noble, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praise-worthy, but sometimes they take a bit of sleuthing/sluicing out (whichever image works best for you). I plan to find those things, then hang onto them so that when my mind tries to take the path that says my road is too desolate or too dangerous I can bring them back into my mind and think about them.
